Savoynet

SavoyNet is a listserv dedicated to discussion of W. S. Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan, the operas they wrote, British culture and musical theater of their time, and related matters. Founded in 1992 and currently hosted by Bridgewater College in Bridgewater, Virginia, over 700 people subscribe to SavoyNet.

Detailed instructions on joining SavoyNet and using the listserv may be found at the SavoyNet page of listowner Marc Shepherd's web site.

SavoyNet listmembers also work together to produce the works of Gilbert & Sullivan. Since 1997, the SavoyNet Performing Group has produced a show at the annual International Gilbert & Sullivan Festival in Buxton, England. Listmembers apply to serve on each show's production team and audition via video and audio recordings.

Upon joining a SavoyNet production, all participants must subscribe to B99, a Yahoo Group specifically for the SavoyNet Performing Group. The B99 Yahoo Group is the location of all discussions pertinent to the SavoyNet productions and home to a file collection that includes the Savoynet Performing Group Constitution and other relevant information.
